Stories are powerful. Our faith is built on stories, from Bible stories to saint stories to stories told by Jesus himself. Often the stories of others resonate deep within us, letting us see things from a new perspective, think in a different way, or learn something new. This is why we are passionate about sharing stories here at maggieyouville.com.
The stories you read on these pages are real stories from real women. While we share most of these stories anonymously to protect ourselves or our children, we have lived these experiences (and more). We share them not to seek revenge or wallow in our misery, but rather to encourage you. We want our stories to offer hope and faith in the ways God has worked in our lives. We want to make a difference in the Catholic Church and the lives of women everywhere.
If you have a story to tell, we invite you to share it. We are happy to read and share submissions of nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and art. Submissions may be published anonymously (as “Maggie Youville”) or with a byline.

All articles will be published under one of our 5 categories:
- am I in an abusive relationship? (helping to shed light on what abuse looks like in relationships)
- how do I help a friend in an abusive relationship? (tips for churches and parishioners who want to help victims of abuse)
- how do I get out of an abusive relationship? (advice on how to safely leave an abuser)
- how do I heal after an abusive relationship? (thoughts on finding faith, hope and love while recovering from past abuse and trauma)
- how do I abuse-proof my kids? (tips for raising healthy kids and ending generational trauma)
Please send all submissions to [email protected]. We will try to respond within 2 weeks.
